If I could, I'd comb the sky
and collect the stars,
quickly pile them into a basket
until it overflowed with silvery
light. And then I'd give the basket to you, because all things
precious and beautiful should be yours today.

Our First Story...

An Angel to Share*

Shelly slumped in a chair in her hotel room. She couldn't believe her rotten luck. Here she was stuck in Cincinnati with a broken-down car while her friends were in Virginia Beach having a great time.

Every year for the last three years Shelly drove from Chicago to meet two of her friends from school for a week at the beach during summer vacation. They would lounge in the sun, hit all the souvenir shops on the strip, flirt with guys, eat at all their favorite restaurants, and just have a great time. It was always good fun and now her heart sank to think that she might miss the whole thing this year.

What Shelly didn't know was that fate had much bigger things in store for her on this trip. For the twenty-two years of her life, Shelly didn't know it, but she had an angel watching over her and waiting...waiting for the right time to intercede in her life. Now the time had come. This unexpected stop in a strange town was about to turn Shelly's life upside down...
